I genuinely feel that writing a book is the easy part. Crazy right? I mean figuring out your story your characters, what makes them tick, who is causing the conflicts…all integral to the story.
The tricky part is getting the editing right so that all those parts lock together in a great story. Full of mesmerizing setting, plot, and characters. I hired a professional with this book. I am so glad I did, she was able to look at my whole picture and give me a roadmap.
It’s funny now… the things I was certain I needed edit out…are exactly the things it needs. My overthinking has given me more homework. However it is my favorite type. If I can figure out how this puzzle works, my other books will fall into place…right?
Um… I would like to say…yes! Absolutely! Unfortunately that is not the case. There are a lot of pieces in the puzzle over 100k in words lol…so just like the tortoise…slow and steady… I keep moving forward…
So I’m starting an editing series… my Slow and steady results before publication. Hope you will read along…and learn with me. That is all I have for today friends…writing and life are a work in progress…(just like me)😉
