I know I am a day late. So, happy (belated) national women’s day!

I am also a year late.( because it’s been so….long since I wrote) Let’s just say I have been going thru a lot. (I am starting this new chapter and making a writing goal of *one blog a month.) I am making it my purpose for this year.(Or one of them at least…lol!)

I have had two hip replacement surgeries in the last two years. It’s been a lot. Physically, mentally, emotionally. I am so grateful for the women in my life that have helped me thru all these major changes. The surgery has been the easy part. The recovery. The emotions, the physical pain, it’s been rough. Really, really rough.

This is one of my all time favorite quotes. I personally love Eleanor. She has been a hero of mine for many years. Her activism helped women’s votes matter. She made women believe they matter. (We do…so don’t forget that!)

So, this new chapter is going to be filled with change, growth, healing, being finally whole physically again. A mental exercise in training myself to not think I am not disabled anymore. I no longer get need a cane. I can walk for long periods without falling. There is so much. (I’m fixed for real this time!)

How does all this personal change reflect national women’s day. Well without those women pioneering new inventions, cures, solutions, or our right to vote, equality in the workplace. Who knows if I…as a women would have been given this surgery, or…if I would have been hired for a job…to get health benefits to pay for surgery. Or even been able to have my own bank account, chose to have an implant to prevent more pregnancies. The list is large. Having a choice matters more than anything!

We as women have so much to be thankful for. Yesterday was just a day to celebrate this. All the advancements and discoveries and to have our independence. I needed to express how grateful I am for all who have come before me. The courage women had to make things happen…when everyone else…said no.

So, please say thank you to all the women that inspired you, encouraged you, supported you, and raised you. They all need appreciation for the things they have done. On their day or every day! I cannot thank my doctor enough for fixing me! (She also a female)

That is all I have for tonight friends. Writing and life are a work in progress (just like me)😉 ps more posts very soon!!!
