Getting married and staying married!

When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?

Weird to write this after nearly thirty years of together. (26 almost 27 years officially married. ) That was the moment, at the wee age of twenty. I felt like a grown up. We rented this horrible house. We saved for a year. Then bought our first home. Also not the best house lol. We traveled, and had fun. Then became parents at 24, and 25. Now are kids are grown. 20, and 23 almost. Life has been a series of ups and downs. Difficulties on the daily. Hard work everyday. Having a partner to experience it with makes it that much better. Work and relationships go hand in hand. Also part of being a grown up. Rose colored glasses exist in fiction. Real life is much harder, filled with heartbreak, pain, physical limitations as you age. Yet, as a grown up you learn to live with these things, you learn from them. You work towards positive outcomes. Maturing is a slow process. Just as a good marriage also is.
